Half a Year!!!

Did you know we’ve been in Senegal for over ½ a year now? It’s hard to believe Africa’s been our home for 6 months and counting!

In many ways our lives have changed…we’ve done so many things for the first time…we’ve had so many rich experiences…we’ve learned so much…there’s been fun things, and hard things…but one thing has not changed a bit in these past 6 months….

God has still said He will never leave or forsake us. Heb. 13:5

God still loves us…even has high as the sky. Ps. 103:11

God is still forgiving, as wide as the east is from the west. Ps. 103:12

I’m still worth more than the sparrows, and God knows when one little sparrow dies. Matt. 10:29-31

The Holy Spirit is still within us and is still my Helper. John 14:16-17

My earthly dwelling may change a lot, but one day I’ll be in my real home forever with Jesus. John 14:2

God is still a shelter and refuge for the weak and weary…if I’m weak and weary in the US, God is my shelter, if I’m weak and weary in Senegal….God is still my shelter. Ps. 18:2

These are all truths that I was very much aware of before coming here, but the more I go through life, the more real these things seem. When people have a hard time understanding my French, it’s encouraging to know God understands me completely. When I’ve been around people all day and the introvert inside of me longs to be alone, I’m even more grateful that God is my true refuge…not my house. When hard decisions have to be made and I have no clue what to do, the words in James 1:5-8 mean even more. When I fail and sin yet again, I’m encouraged by God’s forgiveness and faithfulness. When I’m tired of so many changes, I can cling to the fact that my God never will change.

Thank you all who have prayed for us! Keep it up!
